The current brand and popularity of Chateau d’Esclans wines appeared in 2006, when the property was acquired by Russian-born oenologist Sacha Lichine. Currently on the Provence estate, the Chateau d’Esclans vineyards cover a total of 267 hectares. They are mostly grown with Grenache varieties (one of the oldest, almost 90 years old) and Vermentino. Other cultivated varieties are Cinsault, Merlot, Mourvedre, Syrah, and Tibouren. Chateau d’Esclans and other wine brands produced by them are appreciated and marketed worldwide. On the best plots of land around the La Motte en Provence region, ripe grapes are harvested from dawn to dusk. at noon, then they are manually selected, cleaned and lightly crushed at 7-8 ° C to avoid oxidation. Both the must and the must obtained from pressing are left to ferment in stainless steel vats. To enrich the aroma and body of the wine, the must is kept at a constant temperatureand is shaken (batonnage) weekly. Color: Delicate and pale pink, with shades of salmon and golden inflections, characteristic of the rose of the south of France. Bouquet: The rose angel whispers pleasant and fresh aromas of red fruits, especially cherries, blackberries and wild strawberries. Taste: The texture of the wine is velvety, light and yet intense, thanks to the aromas of flowers and fruits, accentuated by cherries, grapefruit and strawberries. A light wine of small stature and tasty minerality. It has a good structure, a sustained freshness of acidity, and a long and pleasant final taste.
