Franciacorta is the champagne of the Italians. Casa Franciacorta is located in the province of Brescia in Lombardy. It received DOCG status in 1995. The varieties allowed are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. Like champagne and unlike Prosecco, Franciacorta is produced by the traditional method. Variety: 85% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Noir. Color: light yellow. Bouquet: captivating aromas of yellow apple, Whitepeach, Whiteflowers and walnuts. Taste: fresh and harmonious, with exuberant pearl and sprinting. Culinary combinations: wonderful as an appetizer, goes well with fish, seafood, pasta. temperatureserving: 6-8 ° C. Number of bottle produced: 10,000 375 ml, 290,000 750 ml and 10,000 Magnum (1.5 l) . Franciacorta Product Family: Franciacorta Nonvintage (NV) – that is to say, produced from grapes of several years. It may be put up for sale at least 25 months after harvest, of which 18 months are spent on yeast (as opposed to 15 months in the case of champagne). Franciacorta Satèn – produced only from Whitegrapes (predominantly Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc – max 50%). It is famous for its velvety taste and finer pearl. These characteristics are due to the pressure of less than 5 atmospheres in the glass, compared to the 6 atmospheres used in the other assortments Franciacorta Rosé must contains a minimum of 35% Pinot Noir and a maximum of 50% Chardonnay or Pinot Blanc. Franciacorta Millesimato or Vintage – that is, produced from a only one. It can be placed on the market at least 37 months after harvest, 30 of which are spent on yeast (just like champagne). Franciacorta The reserve is made only from wines from excellent years and must stay in contact with yeast for many years. The wine can be put on sale at least 67 months (five and a half years) after harvest.
