The Kir-Yianni estate was founded in 1977 by Yiannis Boutaris, one of the legendary figures of the Greek dim wine industry. He then decided to separate from Boutari Wine Group, a company founded by his grandfather in 1879. Today, Stellios Boutari represents the family’s fifth generation of winemakers and runs the Kir-Yianni Estate. He applies the principles of the Kir-Yianni philosophy: innovation, respect for tradition, for wine – from grapes to glass – and for the end consumer. n Imathia Protected Geographical Indication. Features: Yianakochori Hills is made from the finest grapes of the Naoussa estate. It has complex aromas of red fruits, over which appear tones of coffee, cocoa, breadcrumbs and vanilla, from the maturation in oak. In taste it is light, with discreet tannins, pleasant acidity and long finish, in which elegant earthy notes appear. Aging potential: 10-15 years. Culinary combinations: ideal for combinations with meat dishes. Beef, lamb, pasta with red sauce or yellow cheese.
