Alto Adige is a region in northern Italy, known for its vineyards. This area is characterized by the cool-alpine climate, by the viticulture specific to the mountain area, by the geological complexity and by the suns characteristic of the Mediterranean area. From this region, Cantina Tramin aduna grapes from 280 small producers with which it creates a high quality wine (from varieties such as gewürztraminer, pinot bianco, pinot grigio and lagrein) . Name: Alto Adige nVintage: 2012 Description of Vintage: temperature Mild early spring hastened the start of the growing season. However, growth was slowed by the cooler weeks of April. A wave of heat coming at the end of August caused a reduction in the volume of production. Harvesting the Pinot Noir variety and the Whitevarieties at the beginning of September, ensured the production of healthy grapes with a pleasant acidity. Overall, this vintage is an extraordinary one with intense, fragrant tones and a remarkable potential. The rarer rays of the sun at the end of the month did not favor the red grape varieties more. The red wines from this vintage are characterized by the elegance, fruitfulness and typicality of the varieties from which they are produced. Grape varieties: Gewürztraminer 0D The vineyards are planted at altitudes between 350 and 500m on the slopes below the Roen Mountains- an ideal position to benefit from the fresh, dry winds blowing from Lake Garda, without the growing season. The soil is composed of clay and stone, with a layer of limestone of 2-10 cm and a subsoil of porphyry. Yield: 45 hl / ha Sub-region: Söll near Tramin V The grapes are harvested in small boxes, then lightly crushed and left to soak in the juice to capture the specific aromatic characteristics of the Gewürztraminer variety.
