Oprisor Smerenie

In August 1994, the Carl Reh Trading Company was established in Romania; with the specific purpose of selecting Romanian wines for the international market, and in June 1997; the division settled in Oprișor, taking the decision to produce its own wines from grapes coming from the plantations existing at that time in the Oltenian vineyards of Mehedinți. Shiraz and Pinot Noir have been popular with Romanian producers for more than 10 years, and the Dornfelder variety is a red variety created in the 1950s in Germany; which represents a signature of the style proved by Crama Oprișor. The Smerenie coupage is also a tribute to the faith presentsin all corners of Oltenia, where centuries-old values, traditions and places of worship can be found. Through the experience of oenologist Liviu Grigorică; completed by the work and dedication of his colleague Veronica Gheorghiu; which dealt with the purity of the varieties, this refined and complex wine with the potential for aging in glass was created. Color: Intense red, almost opaque. Bouquet: Scent of red fruits, where overripe cherries are noticeable; simply balanced by a note of green vegetables (conifer needles) . Taste: The notes of red fruit bring the wine finely on the papillae, where it becomes consistent through the astringency of dense tannins and more complex by the notes of oak that seem to be brought by the nature of the grapes as well as by the short ripening period. Post long taste; creamy like a hot and slightly spicy chocolate.
