Winner of the IWCB 2017 gold medal, this Aligoté is a reference wine of the Danube Delta, Sarica Niculiţel being famous for the terroir favorable to the variety. . Originally from the French region of Burgundy, this variety of vine appeared in the late seventeenth century. It is the result of the natural cross between the Gouais Blanc and Pinot Noir varieties. The Aligote from Sarica Niculițel received international recognition for the first time in March 2019. The horses from Letea Aligote ranked 1st worldwide in the Vivino site (the most important wine evaluation site in the world). Subsequently, at the Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2019, he was awarded a gold medal. It was the first time that an Aligote from Romania won a gold medal and the only Aligote in the world that won a gold medal in Brussels in 2019.
