Dominus Estate is the California property of renowned Bordeaux manufacturer Christian Moueix. It is famous for its famous Pomerol wines: Château Pétrus, Château Trotanoy, Château La Fleur-Pétrus, Hosanna; and Saint Emilion: Château Belair-Monange. He fell in love with California in 1968, while studying oenology at UC Davis. He returned in 1982, when he founded Dominus Estate, along with two other partners. In 1995 he became the sole owner of the estate that produces some of the most appreciated American wines. For 38 years, until 2008, Moueix continued to lead the famous Château Petrus. In 2008, he bought another California property, Ulysses. The Dominus Estate vineyards lie at the foot of the Mayacamas Hills. They were planted in 1838 and are related to the beginnings of viticulture in the Napa Valley, when they bore the name no less known as Naponook. When young, decant the wine 1-3 hours before serving or pass it through Vinturi aerator. After aging, it requires a very short decantation, only as long as it is needed to settle the sediments. Structured, impeccable and perfectly integrated, Dominus is an elegant wine that gets better as it ages. ” 100 Parker Points Oenologists: Christian Moueix and Tod Mostero.
